Honoring Tim Benedetto’s Fierce Advocacy for Injured Workers in Louisiana
Workers’ Compensation, LLC is proud to announce that our partner, Tim Benedetto, has been honored with the Mark L. Riley Leadership “Dragonslayer” Award at the Louisiana Workers’ Advocates (LWA) Annual Meeting, held on March 21, 2025. This award is one of the highest honors given by LWA, recognizing exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication to protecting the rights of injured workers across Louisiana.
“The award is in memory of Mark Riley and is given to LWA members for outstanding leadership in fighting for the rights of injured workers,” said LWA President Robin Krumholt. “Mark was a consummate professional and a true advocate for injured workers. He practiced law for 43 years. He believed in our system of justice and fierce advocacy for workers’ rights. He never failed to put his clients first in everything he did.”
Krumholt continued: “He was a great lawyer and an even better teacher, speaking at Continuing Legal Education and educating others on our laws, justice, and the Workers Compensation system. He was proud to be an Eagle Scout and embodied every one of the twelve characteristics of being a scout: trustworthy, loyal, helpful, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. He was forever the picture of desire, dedication and determination and his intellect was unmatched. His long-term service to Louisiana Workers Advocates will be sorely missed.”
Receiving this award is a deeply personal and meaningful moment for Tim Benedetto, who has spent his entire legal career championing the rights of injured workers in Louisiana.
Benedetto said, “This award isn’t just about me, it’s about the movement we’re all part of to make sure every worker is heard, respected, and protected.”
Throughout his career, Tim’s reported decisions, community advocacy, and unwavering support for working-class families make him a true “Dragonslayer” in the spirit of Mark Riley.
